In the context of the upcoming merger into the "Nord" location, DZHK PIs and scientists from the "NCCR" location Hamburg/Kiel/Lübeck were invited to discuss scientific content together with colleagues from Greifswald and develop joint project ideas. The retreat took place from November 23rd to 24th at the Forsthaus Damerow (https://www.forsthaus-damerow.de/) on the island of Usedom.
Three sessions were planned: Population-based cohorts, Clinical cohorts/studies, and Basic Science, presenting various cohorts and studies from the north. The talks were excellent and provided insights into the research focus of each group.
The location is excellent, but due to the winter season, it was rainy and foggy. Nevertheless, in the evening, few colleagues from Lübeck, Hamburg and Kiel found the opportunity to take a walk to the seaside.
