This year, Franzi and I, attended the virtual World Muscle Society meeting for the first time. Unfortunately, some sessions overlapped with the OTS meeting.
So, it was sometimes difficult to choose between two parallel sessions held at the WMS or OTS.
This might be a luxury problem only - definitely the only thing that is positive about Covid19 pandemic.
At both conferences an overwhelming number of talks and posters dealt with therapeutic approaches. It is fantastic to see the progress being made over the past years. It is hard to imagine what will be possible in the coming years.
For diseases that were considered incurable only two years ago, newborn screening is now recommended/performed because there is a therapy (Spinraza, Zolgensma).
