On Whitsunday the annual “7 towers triathlon” took place in Lübeck. Last year our institute was already represented there and took 8th place at the Volks-Distanz (which is 500 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running).
This year we wanted to face a bigger challenge than last year and decided to take the Olympic distance (which is 1500 m swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).
With bright sunshine we reached the following times and won the 1st place in the category company relay:
This year the venue in Lübeck changed to the sports field Falkenwiese at the Wakenitz, which we participants liked very much, because there was much more space for all teams. The water temperature of the Wakenitz was only 19°C but still Anja survived the swim without wetsuit.
All in all, it was a great day, a great competition and we are looking forward to next year when it is time to defend our title!
