Last Wednesday we welcomed Thorsten from Munich in Lübeck. Thorsten was a member of our working group until 2012 and is working since than with Prof. Schunkert in Munich.
Over the last years he established himself as a very sucessful group leader working mainly on understanding the mechanisms linking genetic variants in NO-related genes to CAD.
He started to work on GUCY1A3 - our prime candidate - and is now working on PDE5A and other genes/variants.
He gave very interesting talk about the role of a lncRNA at the PDE5A locus. It was impressive to see how this project evolved over the years.
In the evening we (Zouhair, Thorsten and me) went to Dinner and gossiped.
It was a very funny evening!
