The 18th Annual European User Group Meeting
(EUGM) was held in Rome (Italy). In the first two days workshops with different
topics revolving around Schrödinger Maestro took place and we especially
enjoyed the Python workshop that demonstrated the power of interactive Python
within the Maestro interface. A series of presentations held in the following
days focused on other interesting technological advances. Mario Lobell, the
senior principle scientist of Bayer AG talk about FEP+ and water maps and
underlines the importance of water in the optimization process. Robert Abel the
senior vice president of Schrödinger cited Eugen Cordes "It is difficult
to discover a drug" and shared his opinion on what we can improve in the
process of drug discovery to make it even more efficient. After a day full of
interesting presentations, the eUGM dinner took place in the Galleria Del
Cardinale.
The eUGM was a good opportunity to meet users
from all over Europe as well as the great Schrödinger team.
