EAS 2018, Lisbon, Portugal

This year 86th European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) annual conference was held from 5th May to 8th May 2018, in Lisbon, Portugal. Program for the meeting was packed for every day starting at 8.30 am to 6 pm covering topics on atherosclerosis, inflammation, lipidomics, metabolomics etc. In the evening from 7 pm onwards, there were interactive poster sessions organised which were named as "wine and science" sessions. During the meeting, I got the opportunity to interact and share scientific views with the scientific leaders in the field of CVD including Prof. Jake Lusis and others.

During the meeting three very inspiring keynote lectures were held by Prof. Tybjaerg-Hansen, Prof. Peter Libby and Prof. Marja-Riitta Taskinen. I also got the opportunity to present one of our projects in a house full session. Plenty of interest was shown in the project by the audience after the presentation, the discussions were later carried to the "wine and science" session where the project was presented as e-Poster.

Over and all the meeting for me was very successful and scientifically fruitful. On the last day, I had time and opportunity to explore the city of Lisbon before my flight back to Lübeck.
