Leducq Meeting Paris 2017

Last week, Loreto, Zouhair and I attended the annual Leducq Meeting, which this year was held in Paris. Very early wednesday morning (4.30 a.m.!) we left Lübeck towards Hamburg airport. Around 10 a.m. we reached our Hotel in the center of Paris. After Loreto left, to attend the Bioinformatics Meeting, Zouhair and I decided to use the time to explore the beautiful city of Paris, heading towards Sacre Coeur.

The scientific program on Thursday and Friday consisted of a healthy mix of wetlab and bioinformatics presentations, accompanied by critical yet helpful discussions.

Thursday night, the organizers of this years meeting organized a city tour on the river Seine as a social event. We were lucky, as the rain stopped shortly after the last presentation. Therefore, we were able to enjoy Paris' beauty from the boats top floor.

After the meeting finished on friday noon, after a resume of the bioinformatics session and the discussion if and where next years meeting should be held, we all had lunch together. As the connection Paris - Hamburg is somewhat limited, we had half a day left, before our flight left for Hamburg. We travelled into town and explored some of Paris' most important sights, every now and then hiding from the rainy summer. That night we returned home very late and tired, but also joyful about the nice meeting and the helpful, yet critical feedback to our presentations. We are looking forward to meet again next year.
