Since a few years the University and the City of Lübeck organizes a lecture series for youngsters aged 8-12 every Summer. This event is meant to interest kids in science and research. The event is called "Mini-Master".
This year I was invited to give a lecture about "Genetics". I choosed the title "What peas can tell us about the inheritance of diseases".
Annett helped to make the lecture more interesting by providing a protocol to isolate DNA from banana. @Annett: many thanks!
We invited the kid-students to isolate banana-DNA, make a photo and send it to us. All senders will receive a small gift and photos will be posted on our blog/website.
