As already stated by Prof. Erdmann here, the second e:AtheroSysMed consortium meeting took place in Aying last friday and saturday. In contrast to her, we were luckily able to personally attend the meeting.
The day started very early for us, as we had to get up at 4 am to catch the flight to Munich. Nonetheless in best mood we safely arrived under the bright sun at the Brauereigasthof Aying, a lovely hotel that even produces its own beer.

After a short introduction, every subgroup reported about their progress with many fruitful discussions taking place. Additionally it is always nice to be able to meet the collaborator in person and have the possibility for a mutual exchange.

We managed to finish in time and enjoyed the subsequent recreation time, dinner and of course we had to try the particular Aying beer ;)
On saturday we started a little earlier then planned to be able to finish before some (including us) had to leave to catch the plane back to Hamburg. Finally back at the airport we were rewarded with this lovely view:
