Once a year the University asks you to present your recent results to the public. This does not mean that you should present only exciting scientific highlights. It is also about impact factors, fund raising, and future collaborations.
Most people find these talks boring and this is why these events do not attract many people, as can be seen on the next pic.
This lack of interest is too bad because actually these events are a very good opportunity to learn more about your colleagues and their projects at the university.
So I grabbed a cup of coffee and listended to the talks of Prof. Köhl, Prof. Münte, and Dr. Vogt. IMHO, it was an informative afternoon.
