Together with colleagues from the Institute of Anatomy, Neurogenetics, and Human Genetics, as well as the Clinic for Gynecology, Dermatology and Pediatrics, we are setting-up a "Next-Generation-Sequencing"-platform (NGS) at the University of Lübeck.
In the last couple of months we have established a bioinformatic pipeline to analyse NGS data. The next step is now to establish the hardware to actual sequence patient´s DNA in a medium-throughput scale.
Yesterday, a Miseq sequencer (more information can be found here: Illumina Miseq) funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), arrived at the IIEG.
We are looking forward to analyze our first exome in a couple of weeks.
